Dental Treatments

Routine dental care is an essential part of all horses’ care. Equine Dentistry has developed hugely in recent years with the understanding, prevention and treatment of a wide range of conditions and how dentistry can affect the horse’s performance.

We recommend that your horse’s mouth and teeth are examined every 6-12 months depending on their age and dental history to ensure issues are picked up and treated quickly and efficiently. If you notice any signs of dental problems then we advise that you schedule a dental examination sooner.

All our vets are qualified and fully equipped with motorised equipment to perform safe and effective routine dentistry at your yard. They are also able to administer sedation (at no extra cost) if needed for nervous or agitated horses. Routine dentistry and removal of wolf teeth can usually be performed at your yard.

The practice is well equipped with a range of specialist equipment to perform advanced dentistry including:

  • Oroscopic examination
  • Diastema widening
  • Minimally invasive extractions

We also have support of visiting veterinary dental specialists for restorative and periodontal treatments.
