Lameness examination

If lameness in a horse becomes persistent or a severe problem, the clinic is fully equipped for this to be investigated effectively and provide suitable treatment.

Although much information can be gained from physical examination often further techniques including examination on different surfaces, flexion testing, or nerve blocks are are required to initially locate the source of pain before using imaging techniques such as radiography and ultrasonography to provide a diagnosis.

Arthroscopy is also available to both investigate and treat a wide range of joint and tendon sheath diseases.

We are able to undertake surgery if required at our fully equipped hospital facilities.
